Are You Working In Your Business Versus On It|

It’s time to team up with a Virtual Assistant (VA) when you spend more time working in your business versus on your business.  If you’re thinking what’s the difference in working in your business versus on it, then you’re in trouble.  Big trouble!  You’re wasting valuable time and your business is probably suffering because of it.  Fret not, I’m here to help but before I can help, let me explain the difference between working in your business versus on your business.

When you work IN your business you’re doing maintenance work.  Yes, you heard me correct, maintenance work.  This type of work adds no monetary value to your business yet it keeps the business afloat.  It’s super important!  It’s the behind the scene work that customers don’t see such as website setup and management, social media and email marketing, as well as funnel setup.  These tasks are important to the business because they are what attract customers.

Now working ON your business is totally different.  These are the tasks that bring in the bucks and keeps the lights on. Creating products and services are working on your business.  Without products and services, there’s no business.  Hosting webinars are working on your business.  Teaching classes are working on your business.  This is the show-up and be fabulous work you want to do.   Take Oprah Winfrey for an example.  She’s a billionaire because she’s innovative and she’s always creating and building her brand.  She didn’t get to be the highest paid female in entertainment by doing maintenance work.  She did so by creating.  Maybe, in the beginning, she did maintenance work but I highly doubt she did it long-term.

Angela, thank you so much for sharing this post. You provided some excellent tips! I am also a virtual assistant and some of the tasks you listed are not my forte. I may need your help in the very near future. I really like your website and the pop out with your contact information. Hope to have you work on mine soon.

      Hi Melinda,

I’m glad you found the information helpful. I reviewed your site. It’s nice. I’m sure with a few tweaks it could be all you imagined it to be. :-). I’m here when you need me.
